Getting 4 out of 5 or 4 out of 6. The Partial" AND"

     Hello:

Here's an idea I'd like to share with the Forum group:

1.Choose one of the number of cold filters to fail and do a line build, (see video from LowinGuru)

    2. Save the lines as A

    3. Do the same for the neutral filters, (seperate build, options off). Save the lines as B

    4. Many times we find that there are a considerable amount of  4  out of 5 (or 6 ) in each of the resulting builds. Specifically, A may contain  many    lines that have 4 numbers in common with lines from B.

    5. I don't think that Lotwin has the facility to do the following, but maybe it's something Lotwin could look into:

Pass both saved lines through the following filter: For each line in A,  if 4 out of 5 numbers in that line matches any 4 numbers of a line in B, then    then  the lines are saved into a new set called C, else the line is discarded. This operation can be thought of as a partial AND between both sets    A and B. Note that we don't throw out the winner if it is one set, and any  four  number are present in the  second set of lines.

    6. The lines from C can now be reduced. It would be interesting to see if the chances of getting more lines with 3 or 4 correct could be increased     with the smaller line set C, (full or reduced).

    I would appreciate anyone's comments.

    Regards,

    jayemmar,

You'll probably need to do the operation outside of Lotwin, then input the resulting numbers back into the program. I wrote a small BASIC program doing something similar, but found that multiple 4 number hits sometimes does not reduce the number of lines that much, especially when dealing with millions of lines.

As for asking for requests, see my "Dimitris - Advance Build Option Request" message. However you might have better luck.

Thanks for your reply. The intention of the "Partial AND" function is to get an "enriched" set of 4 out of 5 or 6 numbers. Whether this "enriched" set will yield a better reduction result or not , will have to be tested. I think we'd have to come up with some convining evidence to have Dimitris consider offering this function.

Dimitris is recovering after the release of the One-Click version Sleep

Give me a week and I will look at both your requests.

    Hi Dimitris,

Well done on the One-Click Version!

As for my NOT request on lines in memory - In my 10+ years with Lotwin, I have never used the NOT function.

However it would come in handy when having a bunch of lines and eliminating lines without adding new lines to your list.

    Be Well,

Thank you CD, we will look at the possibility of SUB(tract) function in a week or two. It would be useful as you can start with a few million lines and create different filter sets that will take out chunks of lines and hopefully you'll be left with a small set of entries that includes the winning one.

Thanks Dimitris for looking into this.

Just for argument's sake, I better justify a reason for such a feature.

As I was saying in another post, when I look at the stats for the Cold/Hot/Neutral filters, I see that (usually) 3 out of the 4 filters from the previous draw are not the same - concluding that those filters will not contain the jackpot line.

If I have 1.2M lines in memory, removing those non-winning lines from my current list may improve my chances in capturing the jackpot.

I'm trying to do some testing offline to see if this is a viable option.
